Cashel Farms welcomed Dawn in September of 2012 as a building block for the foundation of the barn’s growing breeding program.
Dawn’s sire, Rheirattack, was the first ever Canadian-bred dressage stallion to be approved as a breeding stallion by the Oldenburg Verband, and is the first Canadian-bred horse to be listed in the WBFSH dressage rankings. Rheirattack is a well balanced, rhythmic and powerful stallion with a gentle temperament. His compact back and his natural ability to collect and carry weight through his hind legs allows him to excel at the most demanding dressage movements such as canter pirouette, passage, and piaffe.
Dawn’s damsire, Don Primero, has inherited from his sire, Donnerhall, his talented and streamlined movement and is following in his sire’s footsteps. Don Primero won the German Dressage Horse Championships in Verden in 1990, and has also won an astonishing number of advanced dressage tests, as well as Grand Prix and Grand Prix special tests. He was named the world’s leading dressage sire and has sired numerous premium foals, many of which have been sold through the elite auctions in Vechta.
Each of Dawn’s foals (all from different sires) have been inspected and given premium status. Based on her own marks at the Oldenburg inspection and the success of her offspring in the dressage ring, R’Dawnattack will qualify for Elite Mare status.
R’Dawnattack is currently bred to De Niro for May 2014.
