Dante’s Diamond

Dante’s Diamond (Onyx) was born June 5, 2013 at 9:30pm. Cashel Farms is proud to announce that he is the first Dante Weltino foal to hit North American soil.

Onyx is an exceptionally even-tempered foal with an incredibly gentle disposition. He greets his visitors willingly and affectionately. Onyx is easy to handle and quickly adapts to new situations and experiences. He loves to learn.

Onyx’s dam, Renoire,  was imported from Germany with Onyx in utero. This was her second breeding to Dante Weltino. Her filly was awarded Premium Foal Status in Germany.

Onyx’s sire, Dante Weltino, a 2007 Oldenburg stallion homozygous for dark coats, was acclaimed Reserve Champion of the Oldenburg licensing in 2009. He has three outstanding gaits and shows great balance on the lunge, with excellent elasticity coupled with tremendous acceleration.  In 2012 he qualified for the Bundeschampionat, and was also approved by the Hanoverian Verband.

Onyx attended his first foal inspection in early September 2013 at Rideauwood Farms where was awarded Premium Foal status. The judge commented on his excellent lineage, superb elasticity and elegant, modern type.

Dante’s Diamond will attend his stallion licensing in 2015, following which he will be available for stud.
